In 1938, the Dutch wholesaler Cornelis van de Reepe, frustrated by poorly attached shoe soles, created an adhesive called Perfecta Supra using natural rubber, which quickly became popular. Naming his company “Perfecta,” he laid the foundation for a global business. In 1958, Perfecta introduced Bison Kit®, the world’s first contact adhesive, which remains a success today, with hundreds of millions of units sold worldwide annually.
